To begin this matchup, Braxton Garrett will take over against the Houston Astros in LoanDepot Park. NRFI Today - Miami Marlins vs. Houston Astros Prediction

The Astros' offense will come to the plate as Garrett takes them on in the top of the first inning. In their last ten games, eight have been scoreless in the first inning, including all of their last four games heading into this matchup. The Astros' top two hitters, Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman, bat a combined .209 versus lefties, which will be huge for getting the first two outs of this battle.

Next, a NRFI legend and potential AL Cy Young candidate Framber Valdez will take over in the bottom of the first inning against the Marlins. Valdez this season is 19-3 (86%) to the NRFI while posting a 3.30 ERA, a .230 opponent batting average, and has held Luis Arraez to an 0-3 career split.

Valdez will come to the mound to take on a very familiar Marlins offense that has failed to score in the first inning many times this season.
