Miami Marlins vs. Houston Astros Prediction

The Miami Marlins host the Houston Astros tonight in the second game of this three-game series with match point on their side as they took the first game of the series last night by a comfortable four-run margin at 5-1. Houston starter Framber Valdez battled to keep his team in the game and did just that as the squad had an opportunity to win the game down 2-1 with men on base but were unable to capitalize, and the Marlins made them pay for it.

Tonight, I love this spot for the Astros to bounce back behind starting pitcher Cristian Javier. Javier may not be statistically having the greatest season of his career, but he is still consistently taking care of three vital jobs all good starting pitchers do: giving his team innings, keeping them in games, and earning some wins. The 4.36 ERA is not stellar but by no means terrible. Javier has been able to go out and give them six innings on virtually a start-to-start basis, and at 8-2 on the season, the guys have proven they can win behind him.

Johnny Cueto has the ball for the Marlins, and while he has had some success against the Astros in the past, the sample size is not crazy, and they are good enough to get to any arm in the league. I like one of baseball's best squads to bounce back at a good price here.
