We’re dumbing it down today and just picking a winner. More money should be on Baltimore, and I am perfectly okay with that. Baltimore has won three straight, including Game 1 of this series, but I think they drop one tonight.
San Diego Padres vs. Baltimore Orioles Prediction
San Diego will be getting back Michael Wacha today, who has sneakily been very good this year. He has a 2.84 ERA and an even more impressive 2.51 home ERA. Baltimore is no easy team to dominate, and they hit .339 against him as a team.
Those numbers are slightly inflated, though, because most of those at-bats came at Fenway last year, which is a hitter-friendly park. We’ve also never seen Wacha pitch at a level like this, so I’m trusting his improvement.
Jack Flaherty is on the mound for the Orioles, and he has allowed 3+ earned runs in four of his last five starts. I know the Padres have been a disappointment this year, but they eventually gotta get it together if they want any chance at playing games after game 162. Let's hope San Diego bounces back and we do the same. Let's roll!
