This doesn’t look like 35-year-old Kershaw; he’s pitching like he’s in his prime. Tonight, he will face off against the surging Milwaukee Brewers. Will we witness another Kershaw masterclass tonight?

The Brewers are playing good baseball. Winners of four of their last five, the Brew Crew was streaking until they lost last night’s series opener. Besides Christian Yelich, who owns a .409 batting average in 22 at bats against Kershaw, the rest of this lineup has struggled immensely against the future Hall of Famer.
The Brewers may be entering this series on a bit of a hot streak, but they haven’t had to face Kershaw yet. Tonight, they’ll face debatably the best left-handed pitcher in the National League right now. This team has a strikeout problem against left-handed pitching, which could pose a serious issue for Milwaukee tonight…
The Brewers nearly strike out 30% of the time against lefties. Tonight, they’ll have to face one of the best left-handed starters in baseball. The odds are stacked against the Brewers in this matchup, to say the least.
Wade Miley has been impressive this year for the Brew Crew. With an ERA below 3.00, I’m not looking to fade the Brewers straight up tonight. Even if I wanted to, they are at a ridiculous (-250) price on the moneyline. Let’s eliminate Miley from this matchup all together, and just fade the Brewers’ offense.
Milwaukee might find a way to keep this game close if Miley is able to continue his hot stretch, but it won’t be in a high-scoring affair. The only team capable of scoring more than three runs tonight is the Dodgers. Instead of betting the under in this game, and potentially running into the Dodgers hitting this over themselves, let’s isolate the Brewers offense as a whole.
Fade the Brewers tonight on their team total. The under might be juicy, but it’s a better price than laying the Dodgers on the moneyline, and I’m not laying the runline in a potentially low scoring affair. The Brewers aren’t scoring four runs in this game. Kershaw will limit Milwaukee to a run or two, and the Dodgers’ bullpen has been solid enough to close the door. Fade the Brewers’ offense in a tough matchup against the future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw.
