MLB Parlay Today
Leg 1: Paul Goldschmidt to Record a Hit
Paul Goldschmidt gets a dream matchup today against Jose Quintana, who is a pitcher that he has had a ton of success against in his career. Goldschmidt is 11 for his last 15 (.733) against Quintana with three doubles and three home runs. I’m expecting more of the same in this matchup. Below are a few more reasons I like Goldschmidt today.
- 1+ Hit in 9 of the last 11 games with 2+ Hits in 3 of the last 4
- .333 Home AVG versus left-handed pitching
- Quintana .303 AVG Allowed to right-handed batters
Leg 2: Riley Greene to Record a Hit
I also like Riley Greene for a hit today. Greene comes into this game on fire, owning a .526 AVG versus right-handed pitching in his last 19 at-bats. He will see a familiar arm in Xzavion Curry, who he is 2 for 5 against in his career. Below are a few more reasons I am taking Riley Greene today.
- Curry .278 Expected AVG Allowed
- .314/.406 AVGs versus Curry’s top two pitches to left-handed batters
- 2+ Hits in four of the last six games
- 1+ Hit in 11 of the last 12 road games
Leg 3: Christian Yelich to Record a Hit
The next leg is Christian Yelich to record a hit. I love targeting lefties against Lance Lynn, who is allowing a .313 AVG to them this season. Yelich is coming off a hitless game against the lefty Clayton Kershaw, and I think he bounces back against a righty. He is hitting .314 against right-handed pitching over his last 12 games and is in a great spot to build on that. Below are a few more reasons I’m backing Yelich for a hit.
- .397/.304/.337 Expected AVGs versus Lynn’s top three pitches to left-anded batters
- 1+ Hit in 13 of the last 17 games
- Increased chance of 5+ plate appearances (road game) - 1+ Hit in 36 in last 40 games with 5+ plate appearances
Leg 4: Julio Rodriguez to Record a Hit
To round out the parlay, I’m taking Julio Rodriguez for one hit. Julio is swinging a hot bat as well, as he comes into this game off of a four-hit performance last night. He will match up against the lefty Angel Zerpa, who is allowing a .391 AVG to right-handed batters this season. This sets up nicely for Julio, who I think has a great chance at 5+ plate appearances. Below are more reasons I like him for a hit.
- 1+ Hit in 20 of the last 23 games
- .275 AVG versus left-handed pitching
- 1+ Hit in 15 in the last 18 games with 5+ plate appearances
- 2+ Hits in five of the last six road games
