Best MLB Strikeout Bets: Lock In This Expert's Best MLB Player Prop Bets for Friday
We've gone 6-0 over the last two nights.
Yesterday, we cashed three under strikeout props pretty easily. Sometimes smaller slates don't always stink. Sometimes those smaller slates allow you to hone in on a few games and get it right.
We won't have that luxury tonight. There are 16 games on the slate. But there are some advantages to big slates too. There's so much value on the board. We just have to find it
Here are three more strikeout props for tonight.
August 18 Best MLB Strikeout Props
Alex Cobb Under 4.5 Ks (-152) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds for this pick
Alex Cobb has struck out 21.2% of batters throughout the season. However, over the last 30 days, he's only struck out 16.8% of batters.
He's never been able to strike out lefties at a high rate. But his strikeouts against righties have dipped to 16.7% this month, despite 28% of strikeouts against righties this season.
That's alarming.
Meanwhile, the Braves have hit a .227 ISO and wOBA of .383 against other righties over the last month. They've also struck out under 20% of the time as a projected lineup against righties in the previous 30 days. Take Cobb to go Under 4.5 Ks.
Tyler Anderson Under 5.5 Ks (-146) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds for this pick
Tyler Anderson struck out under 20% of batters last month. Although he's facing the Rays, asking for six strikeouts from Anderson is a lot.
Anderson has struck out under 19% of batters and has faced nearly 500 hitters this season. He's only thrown about 90 pitches per start this season and has allowed a .175 ISO and wOBA of .349 against those 490 batters.
The Rays only have three batters striking out more than 25% of the time against lefties. It's not horrendous. Back Anderson to go Under 5.5 strikeouts.
Brandon Pfaadt Under 4.5 Ks (-116) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds for this pick
Brandon Pfaadt has struck out 23.8% of batters in the last 30 days. That's more than his average of 20.4% this season. He's improving in his second stint with the Diamondbacks. There's no doubt about it.
However, he's facing a Padres lineup that has only struck out 21.3% of the time against righties over the last 30 days. San Diego has six batters striking out 20.5% or less in the previous 30 days against righties.
Pfaadt's strikeout rate dips against righties. San Diego has more righties in the projected lineup tonight.
