Well, we cooled off a bit the last two days after a hot run up till that point, but I love this slate today, and I am ready to kick off the bounce-back weekend with some vengeance on the diamond. There are a handful of plays I am ready to get after on this slate, so let's kick it off here with my favorite two-leg parlay of the night.
MLB Parlay Tonight
Houston Astros vs. Seattle Mariners
The first leg of this one takes us to the Lone Star State as the Seattle Mariners visit the Houston Astros for the opening game of this weekend's series. The Seattle bats looked strong in a slugfest series with Kansas City this week, but the bullpen got worked like crazy, and coming off no rest and a travel day, this is a tough spot for all those involved.
Bryce Miller has had a fine rookie season but has not been having strong outings in the second half of the season and is currently sporting a 5.15 ERA on the road this season. On the flip side, Houston is at home, coming off a night of rest and sending one of their best arms to the mound tonight. J.P. France is 9-3 with a 2.73 ERA on the year, and tonight faces a squad he has already kept off the board in a start earlier this season.
Oakland Athletics vs. Baltimore Orioles
I will keep this short and sweet as that is all that is necessary here. Oakland is 34-87, coming off a rare shutout win over St. Louis last night. Baltimore is 74-47 and is coming off an even more rare back-to-back losses for them, and bad ones at that. They got killed in the closing games of the San Diego series, but this team is excellent and has been resilient all year long. Huge set the tone; bounce-back game coming here.
