Houston Astros vs. Boston Red Sox Best Bet: Will Astros Get Back On Track?

Well, this is a big-time get-back spot for the Houston Astros tonight, coming off of one of their worst series and probably the worst weekend of the season. The Astros just dropped all three games of this weekend's series at home to their divisional rival Seattle Mariners, who are now nipping at their heels just one game back with Houston at 70-55 and Seattle right there at 69-55. Houston needs to right the ship in a hurry if they do not want to be lapped by a red-hot Seattle squad, and with Christian Javier on the bump for them at home tonight, I like this spot for Houston.

Houston Astros vs. Boston Red Sox Prediction

The Boston Red Sox are no slouches whatsoever and a dark horse squad to make noise in the playoffs out of the American League, no doubt; with that said, motivations are very different going into this game. Boston just swept their longest and greatest rival, the New York Yankees, in their weekend series. They ride into this, still trying to claw back into a tough race in the American League East, but they made some noise they are surely happy about this weekend.

On the flip side, as I said earlier, Houston is slipping. This squad is too talented to fall off here, and that is why I expect a rebound, but they need to do it fast before the narrative switches from Seattle hunting them to themselves hunting Seattle. Christian Javier's ERA is a tad bit on the high side at 4.49, but he has been one of the most consistent arms for Houston with a record of 8-2 on the season.
