I love the spot for Max Kepler today. He gets a matchup with Texas Rangers righty Dane Dunning, who is someone who he has hit well against in his last two matchups. Dunning has been more prone to base hits from lefties on the road this season, as he has allowed a .277 AVG.
The last two times Kepler has seen Dunning, he has gotten a hit, with one of them being a double. Dunning’s pitch mix to left-handed batters couldn’t be more ideal for Max Kepler. Dunning likes to primarily throw his changeup, sinker, and cutter to lefties, and these are pitches that Max has hit well all season. Below are his numbers for these three pitches against right-handed pitching.

You can see that Kepler has great numbers for these three pitches. He is really starting to hit his stride in the second half of the season. Since July 1, he has been hitting .287 with a .261 ISO with nine doubles and seven home runs against right-handed pitching.
He has recorded a double or a home run in five of the last seven games with 4+ plate appearances and in six of the last eight home games with 4+ plate appearances. He also has a double or home run in the last four Friday games. I think Max barrels one up for us here. I love the value of these two props, and I think he has the potential to cash both of them for us.
