I love Teoscar Hernandez today against Kyle Muller and the Oakland Athletics. Hernandez comes into this game with two or more hits in seven of his last nine games and going for 2+ total bases in 10 of the last 12 games. Additionally, Hernandez has gone for 4+ total bases in five of the last nine games and 5+ total bases in four of the last eight games.

Teoscar Hernandez has hit lefties extremely well throughout his career, and this season is no different, as he has accumulated a .306 AVG and a .259 ISO against them in 2023. The matchup could not be much more favorable against Kyle Muller. Muller ranks in the first percentile in xBA and xSLG and in the sixth percentile in barrel % allowed. Muller is allowing a .356 AVG and a .260 ISO on the road against right-handed batters.

His top two pitches to righties are his 4-seam fastball and slider, both of which Teo hits well. Against left-handed pitching, he has an 81% hard hit % with a 28.6% barrel % against 4-seam fastballs and a 61.5% hard hit% with a 23.1% barrel % against sliders. I am expecting Hernandez to stay hot and potentially get us two or more hits again tonight. I think he barrels one up and could send one to the bleachers, so I am taking his total bases ladder up to 5+ total bases.
