Welcome back to the daily Hit Parlay, brought to you by Calling Our Shot. We've hit three straight parlays of the day. If this is your first time reading, welcome aboard, sorry you missed out on the first three winners, but don't worry, we got you covered. Today, we have our eyes set on a fourth straight winner. Let’s dive in.
THURSDAY'S HIT PARLAY
LEG 1: BRYAN REYNOLDS (PIT) TO RECORD A HIT
Our first leg of this Hit Parlay: Bryan Reynolds. Reynolds and the Pirates once again face off against the Nationals. Yesterday, Reynolds went 0-4 with a rare hitless game. This was the first hitless game for Reynolds this season...what are the odds he goes hitless again? I say not likely. On the year, Reynolds is still hitting a solid .286.
Reynolds has a favorable matchup against Josiah Gray and the Nationals. Against Gray, Reynolds is 4-8 batting .500. As the two spot in this lineup, Reynolds will get a lot of plate appearances. The Nationals bullpen is anything but reliable, and should give him an opportunity for a hit there as well.
Reynolds is in a great spot to bounce back after yesterday's anomaly. Go do your job, Bryan.
LEG 2: BOBBY WITT JR (KC) TO RECORD A HIT
Our second leg of this Hit Parlay: Bobby Witt Jr. Witt Jr. and the Royals are back at home to face the White Sox. Last year, at home, Bobby hit .298. Not too shabby. Well apparently to Bobby, that wasn't good enough as this season through three games at home, he's hitting .546.
Will he hit above .500 at home all year long? Probably not, but today isn't the day for his average to start going down as Michael Soroka comes into town. Soroka, a Right Handed Pitcher, allowed a .321 Batting Average to Right Handed Batters last season...Bobby is a RHB. Bobby is also hitting .429 off Right Handed Pitchers this season too.
Combine all those things together, and that's why I'm rocking with Bobby Witt Jr. to take us home. One of my favorite reasons for backing Bobby is (one) he has a very low walk %...nothing aggravates me more than having a player walk when you need them to get a hit AND (2) Bobby is fast as lightning. He can beat out those infield groundballs which would secure us a hit.
