This is a great spot. Texas enters tonight as -200 favorites and for good reason. They face a Oakland team who are 3-7 and are throwing out Alex Wood who has had a rough start to the year.
Oakland Athletics vs. Texas Rangers Prediction
The Rangers' bats faced Alex Wood once last year, and he allowed three runs in just four innings of work. I expect Texas to get to him today as they have been absolutely crushing lefties. Oakland's bullpen has been solid thus far, but I’m expecting some regression soon. Hopefully some late run insurance could make this less sweaty if Eovaldi goes his five innings and qualifies for the win.
Eovaldi has looked sharp this year. He has allowed just two earned runs over 13 innings of work. Oakland should be his easiest task yet. Athletics bats hit 5-32 lifetime against him, which is only a .156 average. Texas has the better bats, better starting pitcher and a rested bullpen that has been more than serviceable. This is a no-brainer, lets roll!
