In 498 plate appearances against righties, Gunnar Henderson has a .282 ISO and wOBA of .376.
He'll take on Louie Varland of the Twins, who has allowed a .348 ISO and wOBA of .467 to his first 25 batters this season.
Varland's strikeout numbers were higher last year, but he still allowed a .217 ISO to lefties. Fewer strikeouts mean more balls in play.
Varland has allowed 47.1% of hard contact to lefties this season. He's also allowing an 11.8% barrel percentage and isn't adding a high rate of whiffs against lefties.
Henderson has hit 66.3% of hard contact to go along with a 14.2% barrel percentage. Henderson can get ahold of one tonight.

Cal Quantril has really looked bad against righties to begin the year. Quantril has already allowed a .323 ISO and wOBA of .504 to his first 35 right-handed batters.
He's also struck out just 14.3% of righties and has allowed 33.3% of fly balls to those same righties.
Even last season, Quantril earned just 7.7% of strikeouts against righties and allowed 26.5% of line drives.
He'll face J.T. Realmuto, who has slugged a .179 ISO and wOBA of .320 against other righties since last year. Realmuto has also done well limiting ground balls and has hit 52.3% of hard contact with 24% of line drives.

Juan Soto has slugged a .266 ISO and wOBA of .418 against righties since last year. He's also struck out just 16.3% of the time against righties during that period.
He'll take on Chris Bassitt of the Blue Jays, who has been awful against lefties to start the season. Bassitt has allowed a .370 ISO and wOBA of .595, with only 31.8% of ground balls induced and 31.8% of fly balls allowed.
Bassitt was equally as bad against lefties last year, giving up a .240 ISO and wOBA of .363 with just 33.6% of ground balls. So this isn't new.
