He’s struggled in the minors of late, but with the Nats needing another starter to fill innings with Josiah Gray now hurt, it will be Parker getting the ball in Los Angeles tonight. How will he fare against Mookie Betts and the best offense in baseball tonight?

WASHINGTON NATIONALS VS. LOS ANGELES DODGERS PREDICTION
As a Nationals fan myself, I’d love to sit here and write up an article about how great Parker is going to pitch against the Dodgers tonight. I just don’t see the soft-throwing lefty finding much success against this stacked Dodgers lineup tonight. It would be one thing if the Los Angeles Dodgers were on some crazy win streak, potentially getting caught sleeping by a strikeout-reliant lefty, but the Dodgers have lost three of their last four games. They will be looking for a statement win on Monday night to get their confidence back.
I’ve been trying to find the best way to profit off the potential blow-up game from Parker in this contest. As much as I’d love to include the Nationals’ bullpen in this wager, I just can’t find the reasoning for betting them on the full-game run line or team total. It’s almost a given that the Dodgers won’t be batting in the bottom of the ninth, and if they are, we have bigger problems to worry about…
Let’s back the Dodgers in the F5 innings in this spot. We’ll probably get to see the Nationals bullpen within the first half of this game considering their starter, and I can’t imagine who they are going to pull out of the bullpen with their best arms already overworked. Considering the Dodgers recent struggles, I’m assuming they’re hitting the imaginary “reset button” before a series against one of the worst teams in baseball. Expect the Dodgers bats to show some pop early in this one, as I’m sure Dave Roberts has emphasized how important a bounce-back performance is for the Dodgers tonight.
The Nationals will have to face a hard-throwing righty tonight, which they struggle mightily against. Tyler Glasnow is truly one of the best starters in the game right now… considering Lane Thomas and Joey Meneses’ early-season struggles, I don’t see them finding much success against this flamethrower early in this game tonight.
I’ll be surprised if the Nationals are able to string more than one run against the Dodgers starter tonight, especially in the F5 innings when he’s got plenty of stamina. I could see the Dodgers putting up a crooked-number against the Nationals starter making his major-league debut tonight, which should be plenty to cash our F5 wager. It could be a long night for Mitchell Parker in his first start in the majors… you couldn’t ask for a tougher assignment than facing the Dodgers on the road extra-motivated after some recent losses.
