Welcome to the daily hit parlay, brought to you by Calling Our Shot. We've now cashed three straight hit parlays to kick off the week. Yesterday's did come with an asterisk as Ohtani did not play, so we built up the bankroll a little bit with Alec Bohm. Unfortunately, both Bohm and Ohtani don't play today, so we have to get creative. Here we go!
THURSDAY'S HIT PARLAY
LEG 1: ADLEY RUTSCHMAN (BAL) TO RECORD A HIT
Our first leg of the hit parlay: Adley Rutschman. Adley had his 11-game hit streak snapped yesterday with an 0-4 game and two strikeouts. The Orioles offense as a whole didn't show up. I'm expecting Adley to bounce back today. He's still batting .311 at home.
Today, he will face the lefty, Carlos Rodon. Adley is hitting .457 vs. Left-Handed Pitchers this year...while that's unsustainable, I'll ride with the hot hand here. He's never seen Rodon before, but I don't think it'll matter. Adley isn't going two straight games hitless. Lock in.
LEG 2: JOSE ALTUVE (HOU) TO RECORD A HIT
Our second leg of the hit parlay: Jose Altuve. Altuve and the Astros face off against Logan Allen and the Guardians. At home, Altuve is batting a ridiculous .375 at home. Altuve is a consistent hitter and has a hit in six out of his last seven games.
Altuve faces the lefty Logan Allen today. Against lefties, Altuve is hitting .281 this season. Worth noting, Allen has allowed 5+ hits in five of six starts this year. Batting leadoff for the Astros, Altuve is in a prime spot to deliver a hit for us today! This game has a total of 9.5, so plenty of hits and runs are expected. I like Altuve to take us home in the only night game on the slate!
