The Astros and Yankees will battle it out in game two of the series from Yankee Stadium tonight. The Yankees have taken all five games against the Astros this season and have owned them in 2024 so far. However, tonight I think one player specifically for the Astros will have an excellent game.

Houston Astros vs. New York Yankees Prediction
I am taking Yordan Alvarez to go over one and a half bases tonight. Yordan Alvarez is hitting .248 this season and has seven home runs. Alvarez has gone back to back games without a hit, as he went 0-1 yesterday with two walks. He is just 3–19 this month in May, hitting .158. However, I think he will have a game against the Yankees tonight.
Yordan Alvarez is facing lefty Yankees pitcher Carlos Rodon tonight. With Yordan Alvarez being a lefty hitter, this is a matchup I think he will do well in. Oddly enough, Yordan Alvarez has done much better against lefty pictures to begin this season, as he is hitting .333 against lefties and .200 against righties. Of his 11 extra hits this season, five have come against lefty pitchers despite having about half the at-bats. He is averaging an extra-base hit in 9% of plate appearances against lefty pitchers while only averaging an extra-base hit in 6% of plate appearances against right pitchers. Yordan Alvarez is 3-13 off Carlos Rodon in his career with a homer. Playing in Yankee Stadium is very important for this bet tonight, because the short porch out in right field makes it one of the easiest parks for a left-handed batter to hit a home run in. Yordan has had a lot of success in Yankee Stadium over his career, and I expect him to exploit this lefty-on-lefty matchup against Rodon tonight and either get us two hits or an extra base hit.
