After sweeping their division-rival in their last series, they will look to defend their home field against the Mets in an inter-league series. In Francisco Lindor’s first game back in Cleveland, will we see the Mets offense shine with him back in the leadoff spot?

NEW YORK METS VS. CLEVELAND GUARDIANS PREDICTION
We’ve seen an influx in runs in Cleveland this season, probably because of the wind now blowing out to right-center because of some of the sections being removed from the stands. This has opened up a “wind tunnel” of sorts, with many left-handed hitters taking advantage of it. There are plenty of lefties who mash in both of these lineups on Monday night…
Tylor Megill hasn’t pitched in a while, and might be due for some bad pitch locations as he shakes off some of the rust. He’s been known to give up the long ball a time or two, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the red-hot Guardians took advantage of some of his mistakes. He’s got high velocity which could honestly hurt him tonight if the wind is blowing out to center.
Ben Lively has been a pleasant surprise for the Guardians after posting a 5.38 ERA with the Reds last season. I like backing the narrative that Lindor and the lefties in this Mets lineup take advantage of some of Lively’s mistakes in Lindor’s first game back in Cleveland. Could this be what sparks Lindor and the Mets offense this season? I’ve seen craziest things happen…
With the total moving up to o/u 9 on most books, this will be the highest total of the season in Cleveland. Oddsmakers are “tipping their hand” with this high total. Maybe they are finally aware of the “wind tunnel” effect happening in Cleveland. Either way, I’m expecting plenty of runs tonight in this inter-league contest between the Mets and Guardians.
