Los Angeles Angels vs. Houston Astros Prediction
I love the spot today for the Houston bats against lefty Tyler Anderson. The Astros have put up six, seven, and nine runs over their last three games and have absolutely crushed lefties this season ranking fourth in wRC+ and fourth in on-base percentage.
With Tyler Anderson is on the mound this afternoon, I think they are able to put up a lot of runs once again. Last season, Houston rocked him in his last two starts against them. In those two games the Astros scored nine and 11 runs hitting .333 off him.
Anderson is coming off a quality start, but his metrics indicate he has been a little lucky as he has a 4.83 expected ERA against 2.72 actual ERA. He ranks below average in strikeout percentage and walk percentage and Houston strikes out at the lowest rate in the MLB against lefties.
I think he gets rocked here yet again and Houston puts on a hit parade. Plus, the Angels bullpen is not good, ranking second worst in ERA (4.97) and allowing the third most home runs (25). Houston has the advantage here and thier batts will get hot today.
