MLB Parlay Pick Today: Thursday's MLB Parlay of the Day from Calling Our Shot
Welcome to the daily parlay, brought to you by Calling Our Shot. Typically, we are backing two hitters to get a hit...but today, we are switching things up. We have two early starts today, so be sure to lock this in with us.
THURSDAY'S PARLAY
LEG 1: MARINERS VS. YANKEES UNDER 9.5
Our first leg of the parlay is an alternate under in the Mariners and Yankees game. The normal line is at 8 but we’re buying a run and a half.
We should see a pitchers duel between Luis Gil and Luis Castillo. In 110 PAs, this Yankees roster is only hitting .156 against Castillo. On the other side is Luis Gil and his elite 2.39 ERA. Gil gets a perfect matchup today against the Mariners who average the most strikeouts per game. Both starters should get deep into this game and allow the bullpens to hold the offenses down for a few innings. Both bullpens rank in the top 12 in terms of ERA so that all but seals a low scoring affair in the Bronx today.
LEG 2: PAUL SKENES (PIT) 6+ STRIKEOUTS
Our second leg of this parlay is Paul Skenes to record six (or more) strikeouts. If he wants to record 10+, I'll allow it. Paul has had a great start to his MLB Career recording seven and 11 strikeouts against the Cubs. Today, he will face the Giants. The Giants are towards the bottom half of the league in strikeouts per game on the Road. Yesterday, they struck out 12 times, however, only five to Jared Jones, another young Pirates ace.
I expect Skenes to be able to get at least 1 more than Jones. When you throw as hard as Skenes with as much movement as he has, it's going to be a tough spot for any hitter. We saw him hit this 6 K's after the second Inning of his last start. I'm confident he makes some Giants look silly in this early afternoon start. This is a 9AM local time start for them usually, so let's hope they are whiffing like crazy today!
