This is as simple as betting gets, we’re betting on the winner here. Cincinnati has been pretty disappointing this season but have time to bounce back. At home they are looking to go improve to .500 tonight and I think it’s certainly possible.
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Cincinnati Reds Prediction
Cincinnati seems to finally be getting things together. They are winners of four straight and three of those four were a sweep against the juggernaut Los Angeles Dodgers. The Reds took game one of this series against St. Louis and have a good chance to keep their streak alive.
On the mound for us is Andrew Abbott who has looked great this year. The 24 year old lefty has a 2.68 ERA and a very comparable xERA of 2.72. I highly considered his u2.5 earned runs prop for plus odds but the wind in this one scared me off. We are facing off against Kyle Gibson here too. Gibson has a 3.81 ERA and hasn’t looked to be improving in his recent starts. Gibson allowed six runs in 4.2 innings in his last start against Cincinnati.
Cincinnati has a slightly better bullpen, the better starter and comparable bats. -120 for this seems a little low and I think it has value. Before the season I figured the Reds would be an over .500 team, winning games like this would back that belief. Let's hope the boys in Ohio remain hot and let's roll!
