I can’t decide who is going to win the final game of this AL East series, but I lean the Yankees. Luis Gil has been dominant this season, nearly unhittable in most of his starts. I don’t see Thursday’s matchup going any differently. Gil should dominate once again on Thursday on his home mound.
Cole Irvin is coming off a poor outing, but I believe in the veteran lefty. I’m willing to bet Irvin silences the Yankees bats before the O’s have to tap into their bullpen. After yesterday’s over, I’m expecting a much different game for the final matchup of the series. I’m predicting it to be much more like the first game of this series, that was intense and low-scoring.
The total opened up at 9 before dropping down to 8.5. That’s an interesting move after yesterday’s offensive showcase, especially with the struggling Irvin and a young Gil in a big game. More than 70% of the bets are on the over, but only 55% of the handle (on VSiN) are backing the over. Some bigger bets are being placed on the under, which currently has the sharpest splits on the MLB board.
Nobody wants to bet the under in this spot after watching last night’s game soar over. That’s exactly the type of bet we want to be on. Fade the public, and lock-in the sharp under in the final game of this AL East series before the total drops any lower. I’ll meet you at the cash counter after a good ole fashioned pitchers duel.
