Welcome to the daily parlay, brought to you by Calling Our Shot. Today, we have another two-leg hit parlay. We had hit six straight prior to yesterday. Today, we need to bounce back with another winner. Let's get to it!
THURSDAY'S HIT PARLAY
LEG 1: ANTHONY VOLPE (NYY) TO RECORD A HIT
Our first leg of the hit parlay: Anthony Volpe. Volpe unfortunately hurt the community yesterday with an 0-5 game. We can’t be afraid to go back to Volpe as two of his five PAs had an xBA of over .300. Today, Volpe starts a new series in Toronto against the Jays.
Volpe is facing a familiar division foe in Jose Berrios today. Berrios has allowed 6+ hits in six of his last seven starts. Against Berrios, Volpe is a career 2-7 with a .286 average. Volpe rarely has two straight games where he is hitless at the plate. Today he bounces back and gets the job done for us!
LEG 2: GUNNAR HENDERSON (BAL) TO RECORD A HIT
Our second leg of this hit parlay is: Gunnar Henderson. Gunnar has been an ally to our Hit Parlays this season. Today, we ask him to keep up the good work against Jon Gray and the Rangers.
Gunnar is swinging a hot bat. He has had two and three hits in his last two games. He’s batting .351 in June. Today, he will face Jon Gray, who he is 2 for 6 against lifetime. Gunnar is batting .292 against Righties, whereas Jon Gray is allowing a .276 batting average to Lefties. The Rangers bullpen doesn’t scare me either. I’ll trust Gunnar to lock it in and help us get back in the winning column!
