The New York Yankees will wrap up their 3-game home series with the Boston Red Sox tonight and will be featured as the Sunday Night baseball game. New York is giving the nod to rookie pitcher, Luis Gil, who they hope can right the ship after struggling mightily in several consecutive outings.

Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees Prediction
After an excellent start to his rookie campaign, Gil has seemingly hit the proverbial wall. Over his last three games, he has allowed a whopping 16 earned runs and hasn’t finished five innings an any of those starts. To get back on track, Gil will need to win the mental battle many pitchers go through after getting lit up on the mound.
He will have his work cut off for him against a Boston Red Sox lineup that ranks 11th in wRC+, 9th in batting average, and 10th in on-base percentage against right-handed pitchers over the last month. They should also come into this series finale with a sense of urgency after losing yesterday’s game by 10 runs.
The player prop I’m targeting in this matchup is the under on Luis Gil’s pitching outs prop which is currently set at 16.5. This is a number he has stayed under in each of his last four starts which includes a game against this same lineup. Back in June, it took Gil 104 pitches to record 15 outs against the Red Sox and I’m expecting him to have trouble with this line once again.
