Back to the diamond for Wednesday night baseball tonight, and we are heading down to the Lone Star State for this one as the Houston Astros host the Pittsburgh Pirates in game three of this interleague series. Houston will be looking to avoid a four-game skid with a win here, while the Pirates look to close out the sweep.

This one is a little juicy, but I just have to believe the Astros are going to avoid getting swept at home by the Bucs. Jake Woodford is awful, I do not feel bad saying it and have no remorse. Woodford was 0-2 with a 10.80 ERA before being waived by the White Sox earlier this season, and he struggled in his time with St. Louis as well.
Framber Valdez has been excellent in all four starts this month, and has success against this Pittsburgh lineup. In 39 at-bats against, they are slashing .179/.304/.204 with just one extra base hit. The Bucs offense is not that talented, I have to expect some regression here tonight and the Astros to wake up before they start slipping in the division race again. Texas and Seattle are not going to keep the door open forever.
