Welcome to the daily parlay, brought to you by Calling Our Shot. Yesterday, we ended July with another parlay victory. Today, we look to start August with another winner (which would also be our third straight cash!).
THURSDAY'S MLB PARLAY
LEG 1: Cardinals and Cubs Both Teams to Score 1+ Runs in the First 7 Innings
Our first leg of the Parlay: Cardinals and Cubs each to score 1+ in the First 7 Innings. The premise of this bet is simple, each team needs to have one run on the board through seven innings. Shota and Sonny are great pitchers on paper, but one run is asking for the bare minimum.
Shota faces the Cardinals for the second time this season. The first time he faced them, he went 7 IP and only gave up one run. The great news for us is that this bet would’ve still cashed even though he pitched well. Shota has only faced one team twice this season and that was the Mets. In his second outing against the Mets, they easily figured him out to a tune of 10 runs. The Cardinals will score at least one on Shota, and then it’s up to the Cubs to get us one off Sonny Gray. Gray is a vulnerable pitcher on the road this season. On the road he has a 5.29 ERA, compared to a 2.67 ERA at home. Coming off 13 runs yesterday, we only need one from the Cubs today, and they should do that against Sonny Gray and the Red Birds.
LEG 2: Rockies and Angels Both Teams to Score 1+ Runs in the First 5 Innings
Our second leg of the Parlay: Rockies and Angels each to score 1+ in the First 5 Innings. Yesterday, we saw a very low scoring game between these two teams (2-1 final score), but this leg of the parlay would've still cashed.
Today, we see Ryan Feltner take on Carson Fulmer. Feltner has been better on the road than he has been at Coors Field, but I still like the Angels to score here. Feltner loves walking guys, as seen through 2+ walks in four of his last five starts. He's allowed 1+ run in eight straight starts. The Angels surely have at least one in them. Fulmer starts for the Angels. He's allowed 3 ER in back to back starts against the Athletics. Like Feltner, Fulmer likes to walk batters, two and three walks in his last two starts. The Rockies are seventh in BA and 12th in wRC+ vs. RHP over the last two weeks. One mistake pitch by Fulmer and we are golden!
