Best Bets Today: Wednesday's MLB Parlay from Calling Our Shot

Calling Our Shot delivers their favorite two-leg parlay for Wednesday, August 21st. Yesterday, we cashed our parlay. Who says we can't do that two days in a row?

Best Bets Today: Wednesday's MLB Parlay from Calling Our Shot

Welcome to the daily parlay, brought to you by Calling Our Shot. We finally cashed our parlay yesterday with a clutch hit from Luis Arraez. Could that be the luck we needed? I hope so. Let's cash a second straight today!

WEDNESDAY'S MLB PARLAY

LEG 1: Phillies & Braves Both 2+ Runs Full Game

Our first leg of the Parlay: Phillies and Braves each to score two runs. This leg of the parlay is an alternate team total for each team over 1.5 runs (you can Same Game Parlay it if you want). We just need each team to put up two runs on the board by the end of the 9th inning to cash this.

The Phillies face off against Max Fried. Against Max Fried, the Phillies roster is hitting .333. Fried faced the Phillies twice this season and gave up three and five earned runs in those two matchups. After scoring just one yesterday, the Phillies bats will wake up against Fried today. We’ll also need the Braves to score two off Aaron Nola and the Phillies. Nola has faced the Braves twice and given up three and seven runs in those starts. A little icing on the cake is how bad both of these bullpens are. In the last two weeks, the Phillies are 25th in bullpen ERA and the Braves are 27th in bullpen ERA. We’ll have run opportunities late in this game as well.

LEG 2: Rays & Athletics Both Teams to Score 1+ Runs in the First 7 Innings

Our second leg of the Parlay: Rays & Athletics Both to score at least one Run in the First 7 Innings. You can find this on DraftKings under the '1st X+ Innings' tab, or on BetMGM under the Innings Tab.

Through two games in this series, we've seen final scores of 3-0 and 1-0. It's safe to say that the UNDER in the full game has smacked and this leg has failed. I'd be shocked if a third straight game is low scoring. Eventually, offenses start to figure things out and I think that happens today. Ryan Pepiot starts for the Rays. He just returned back from injury. He hasn't pitched on the road since July 3rd, so might have some jitters here. He faced Oakland in May and they hit him for two runs. Mitch Spence starts for the Athletics. Mitch has allowed at least one ER in 13 straight starts. In fact, the last time he didn't allow a run was May 28th facing...you guessed it... the Tampa Bay Rays. They aren't getting cooked twice by this guy. Someone will hit a homer, or find a way to score. One run through seven doesn't sound hard, and it doesn't have to be. Go get it done, Rays & A's.
