5 minBest Bets Today: Thursday's MLB Parlay from Calling Our Shot
Welcome to the daily parlay, brought to you by Calling Our Shot. Yesterday, we cashed a second straight parlay. Today, I've put in a request to cash a third straight. I hope you're tailing it with me.
THURSDAY'S MLB PARLAY
LEG 1: Phillies & Braves Both 2+ Runs Full Game
Our first leg of the Parlay is: Phillies and Braves each to score two runs. This leg of the parlay is an alternate team total for each team over 1.5 runs (you can Same Game Parlay it if you want). Often times, most books will give you better odds if you find the 'Both To Score X+ Runs' market than taking them in a Same Game Parlay (helpful tip!).
Yesterday we cashed this leg, let’s run it back today. The Phillies face off against Spencer Schwellenbach and the Braves. Last time the Phillies faced Schwellenbach, they got seven hits off him but only one run to show for it. Worth noting in that matchup, Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper weren’t in the lineup. Speaking of the Phillies best hitters, the top three of the Phillies lineup all went hitless last night and yet they still scored three runs. The offense will be there today for the Phillies. We also need runs from the Braves against Cristopher Sanchez. The Braves have been heating up against lefties. Over the last 14 days, the Braves are 1st in OPS and 1st in wRC+. Even though the Braves didn’t look good against Nola last night, they still came through for us and got the two runs we needed. They’ll look better today and cash this leg with ease.
LEG 2: Astros and Orioles Both to Score 2+ Runs
Our second leg of the Parlay: Astros and Orioles Both to Score 2+ Runs. Yesterday, the Astros wrecked you if you backed them. They scored only 1 run, going 0-7 with RISP. They had scored 2+ Runs in 14 straight games prior to yesterday.
Today, the Astros will face Corbin Burnes. Burnes has now allowed 2+ ER in five straight starts. The Astros tagged him for 4 Runs back in June. Even if they can't hit Burnes, the Orioles bullpen is terrible (and that's being nice). The Orioles will need to score vs. Spencer Arrighetti. Spencer owns a 6.09 ERA on the Road. He's allowed two HRs in back-to-back starts. We know the Orioles have the capability of doing just that. The Orioles are coming off a tough series vs. NYM, losing two of three via walkoff homers. Returning back home, I like them to come through. Worth nothing, the Orioles have scored 2+ Runs in 13 of their last 14 home games. They'll come through for us today.
