The New York Mets and the Milwaukee Brewers meet for Game 1 of this highly anticipated NL Wild Card series.
New York's path to the playoffs was a wild one. The Mets' start to the season was sluggish, but a strong second half put them back in playoff contention.
The season came down to a doubleheader with the Atlanta Braves yesterday and the task was simple for the Mets. They had to win one of the two games to clinch a playoff berth.
New York fell behind 3-0 heading to the eighth inning in Game 1. The Mets used a six-run eighth inning to jump ahead 6-3 going to the bottom of the eighth.
Atlanta used its own rally to storm back ahead 7-6 in the final inning, but Fransico Lindor stepped to the plate as the Mets were down to their final two outs and blasted a game-winning two-run home run.
Now, the Mets will look to carry that momentum into this series against the NL Central Champs.
Milwaukee will be making their sixth playoff appearance over the last seven years.
The Brew Crew have won the NL Central in three of the last four years, but Milwaukee's regular-season success has not translated to the playoffs. The team has not reached the NLCS since 2018.

We are getting great value in New York today.
Every season, a wildcard team gets hot and makes some noise in the playoffs. The Mets are that team for me this season.
Peralta has struggled at home this season with an ERA of 4.01. I expect the Mets' bats to stay hot and lead the way to a win today.
