Atlanta Braves vs. San Diego Padres Prediction, Betting Pick and Latest Odds

The San Diego Padres host the Atlanta Braves for game two of this NL Wildcard series tonight as Petco Park will be the site for this highly-anticipated affair.

San Diego has an opportunity to earn the sweep today. After missing the playoffs last year, San Diego has enjoyed a remarkable bounce-back season.

Since the mid-summer classic, the Friars have posted the best record in baseball.

With a win today, the Padres would advance to face their archrivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers. It is worth noting the Padres won the regular season series against the Dodgers.

Atlanta Braves vs. San Diego Padres Prediction

To move on and face the Dodgers, the Padres will have to close the series with a win tonight.

Fernando Tatis Jr. set the tone last night, launching a moonshot two-home run to give the Padres a 2-0 lead.

The Padres' starter Michael King did not disappoint, making his best start for the season. King pitched seven scoreless innings, striking out 12 Braves. The Padres' bullpen did their job as well, pitching two scoreless innings.

AJ Smith-Shawver struggled, pitching 1.1 innings and allowing four runs for the Braves. Atlanta was forced to use three relievers in the losing effort.

Michael Harris II led the team with a pair of singles. The Braves collected seven hits as a team but could not step up and deliver a big hit.

San Diego had just five hits as a team but used the long ball to earn the win.

Southpaw Max Fried will patrol the rubber tonight. Fried posted a record of 11-10 paired with a 3.25 ERA.

Former All-Star Joe Musgrove gets the nod for the Padres. Musgrove went 6-5 with a 3.88 ERA this season.
