Philadelphia Phillies vs. New York Mets Prediction
In Game 1, the Phillies wasted a strong pitching performance from Zack Wheeler, taking a 1-0 lead into the eighth before the bullpen blew it.
In Game 2, it was the Mets that jumped out to a 3-0 lead and had the Phillies on the ropes. The Phillies' offense looked dead when former MVP Bryce Harper delivered a two-run home run and Nick Castellanos followed Harper's home run with a two-out solo shot of his own to even the score.
Brandon Nimmo responded with a two-out solo shot at the top of the seventh inning to take the lead right back as New York carried a 4-3 lead into the bottom of the eighth.
Bryson Stott had the most significant swing of his season, delivering a two-RBI triple to give the Phillies a 5-4 lead and the Phillies added an insurance run to take a 6-4 lead into the ninth inning.
Mark Vientos once again delivered, launching a two-run home run to tie the game at six and the home run temporarily silenced the Philadelphia faithful.
In the bottom of the ninth inning, Trea Turner and Bryce Harper drew back-to-back walks to allow Nick Castellanos to win the game as he struck a ball into the left-field corner to walk off the Mets.
