MILWAUKEE BREWERS VS. NEW YORK YANKEES PICK
The New York Yankees World Series collapse against the Los Angeles Dodgers led to a lot of offseason changes. No longer is Juan Soto in a pinstripe uniform, heading across town after inking a massive contract with the New York Mets. Pitcher Gerrit Cole's injury has led to Tommy John surgery, meaning the Yankees will be without their ace for quite a long time.
Some notable lineup changes for New York include a pair of big power hitters. Cody Bellinger and Paul Goldschmidt were both acquired from the NL Central and slot third and fourth on Thursday's batting lineup. C Austin Wells is the lead-off hitter, followed by star RF Aaron Judge, Bellinger and Goldschmidt, then Jazz Chisholm, Anthony Volpe, Jasson Dominguez, Ben Rice, and Oswaldo Cabrera.
In the opposite dugout, the Brewers are rolling out a strong first-four in their batting lineup. Jackson Chourio, William Contreras, Christian Yelich, and Rhys Hoskins.
The last time Rodon faced Milwaukee, the Yankees lit up the Brewers in a 15-3 blowout win on the road on April 27, 2024. Rodon gave up two hits, one run, and recorded eight strikeouts through six innings pitched.
Peralta didn't draw a start against the Yankees in 2024. He went 19-13 as a starting pitcher for Milwaukee last season, with a 3.68 ERA and 16 Ks combined in his final two games against the Phillies and Pirates.
