Sunday Night Baseball Same-Game Parlay Pick: Back This +740 FanDuel SGP for Braves vs. Padres

The Atlanta Braves will attempt to avoid an ugly four-game sweep to start the season on Sunday Night Baseball tonight. Can Marcell Ozuna and Austin Riley get the bats going for Atlanta after getting shut out on Saturday? Jason Radowitz is expecting the stars to shine in his Sunday Night Baseball Same-Game Parlay for Braves vs. Padres.

Sunday Night Baseball Same-Game Parlay Pick: Back This +740 FanDuel SGP for Braves vs. Padres

The San Diego Padres will look to sweep the Atlanta Braves in a four-game series to start the season.

The Braves struggled with major injuries last season, which carried over into this year. Atlanta is still without arguably its two best players, Ronald Acuna Jr. and Spencer Strider. They're looking to piece it all together but ultimately let the payroll dip when other teams, like the Mets, spent lots of money to improve.

Atlanta will still be in playoff contention when the season is over. Ultimately, it's never easy to play on the West Coast to begin the season.

Meanwhile, the Padres have won three consecutive games to start the year. The last two against the Braves were decided by one run and probably could have gone either way.

That said, the Padres did a little bit more in each area and are now feeling really positive heading into tonight's ESPN Sunday Night Baseball game.

The Braves will send out a young righty in A.J. Smith-Shawver. He threw seven games and 29.2 innings last season and struck out just 24 batters while holding an ERA of 3.64. He'll battle San Diego's newly acquired pitcher, Nick Pivetta. Pivetta can earn a ton of strikeouts, but he's also someone who can give up a lot of power.

Maybe the Braves bets will finally break out tonight.

That said, check out our FanDuel Same Game Parlay for tonight's ESPN Game of the Week featuring the Braves and Padres.

FanDuel Same Game Parlay - Atlanta Braves vs. San Diego Padres

Leg 1: Marcell Ozuna Over 1.5 Total Bases (+140)

The Padres will pitch Nick Pivetta tonight. He is a right-handed pitcher who allowed a .240 ISO and a wOBA of .347 against 307 righties last season.

In addition, he gave up 30.6% of fly balls with only 29.2% of ground balls. Pivetta also allowed 45.5% of hard contact to righties and gave up 28.2% of line drives to righties.

Meanwhile, Marcell Ozuna slugged a .261 ISO and wOBA of .400 against righties last season. He also smashed 33.2% of fly balls and limited ground balls very well against righties. Beyond that, Ozuna added 60.7% of hard contact against righties and hit a 15.8% barrel percentage. He's in line for a big night against Pivetta.

Leg 2: Austin Riley Over 1.5 Total Bases (+120)

Austin Riley is the other right-handed batter in the Braves lineup who can destroy righties. Riley hit a .261 ISO and wOBA of .345 against 361 righties last season.

He also added 59.2% of hard contact against righties and earned a Braves-best 16% barrel percentage against righties last season.

Riley added 29.4% of fly balls and 28.2% of line drives with only 36.1% of ground balls. Riley might strike out a couple of times. But when he gets a piece of a Pivetta pitch, he can undoubtedly launch it.

Leg 3: AJ Smith-Shawver Under 3.5 Ks (-138)

AJ Smith Shawver threw 29.2 innings last year and struck out only 24 batters. Tonight, he's facing a Padres' projected lineup that struck out only 16.5% of the time against righties last season.

There's not a single player in the projected lineup that struck out more than 20.1% of the time against righties. Luis Arraez, for example, struck out only 2.6% of the time against righties last season.

Smith-Shawver never showed elite ability to earn strikeouts. Don't expect him to consistently add strikeouts on the big stage tonight.
