We've got a great matchup at Fenway Park tonight between the St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox on Sunday Night Baseball. Players will have to find their energy after playing Saturday's postponed matchup earlier Sunday afternoon.
This second game on Sunday's double-header features Miles Mikolas on the mound for the Cardinals. Minor league pitcher Hunter Dobbins is expected to draw the start for the Red Sox on Sunday Night Baseball. Mikolas helped the Cardinals build a lead during his lone start this season, however, St. Louis wound up blowing their lead, losing 5-4 in extra innings at home against the Los Angeles Angels.

Cardinals vs. RED SOX SAME-GAME PARLAY
LEG 1: CARDINALS ALTERNATE RUN LINE +2.5 (-340)
I'm confident in St. Louis due to their pitcher having significantly more experience compared to Boston's minor-league starter. The Cardinals have not struggled with offense, scoring four or more runs in all seven games played, including nine runs against the Red Sox in a 13-9 loss on Friday.
Mikolas surrendered two hits against the Angels, resulting in two earned runs, leaving the game with the Cardinals holding a 3-2 lead in the 6th inning. It'll take a better effort from St. Louis' defense to keep Boston's bats at bay. I think they can do it, but I prefer buying a couple of runs in the alternate run line market.
St. Louis swept the Twins 3-0 to start their season. Then, the Cardinals went 1-2 against the Angels, before falling into an insurmountable deficit during Friday's 13-9 loss against the Red Sox. Both losses to Los Angeles were by two or fewer runs.
Let's start our MLB Sunday Night SGP by inserting the Cardinals +2.5 as our first leg.
LEG 2: LARS NOOTBAAR TO RECORD A HIT (-250)
I'll dive into the player prop market and target the Cardinals' top-hitter, Lars Nootbaar, to record a hit a -250 odds. Nootbaar has recorded two hits in four straight games, tallying 12 hits in 29 at bats this season.
Nootbaar is a left-handed hitter facing a right-handed pitcher, increasing his probability of recording a hit against the Red Sox tonight. Dobbins just gave up three home runs in the minors. He'll present a great matchup for Nootbaar to extend his hit streak on Sunday Night Baseball.
LEG 3: MILES MIKOLAS 3+ STRIKEOUTS (-440)
Finally, we'll bump this MLB Sunday Night Baseball SGP into plus odds by backing Cardinals' pitcher, Miles Mikolas, to record three or more strikeouts.
Mikolas finished with three Ks against the Angels in 5.1 innings pitched during his start on March 31st. In 2024, Mikolas recorded four strikeouts during the Cardinals' 7-2 win over Boston.
He's not a prolific pitcher when it comes to strikeouts but the Red Sox are averaging 10.71 strikeouts per game in 2025. This is third-most in the MLB, so I have confidence in Mikolas to log at least three Ks in Fenway tonight.
