Joe Ryan has completely owned this Royals lineup in his career. Across 113 at-bats, Royals hitters are batting just .177against him, and he’s posted a nasty 35% strikeout rate in those matchups. The dominance is real — Ryan has been in full control every time he’s faced them.
On the flip side, Seth Lugo is a solid pitcher, but this Twins offense has had much more success against him compared to what the Royals have done vs. Ryan. Minnesota’s bats should create more pressure and capitalize on the matchup early.
