Best MLB Home Run Bets: Will Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Finally Hit His First Home Run Of The Season?

The Tampa Bay left-handed cleanup hitter, Jonathan Aranda, has hit a .364 ISO and wOBA of .524 against righties to start the season.

He's also struck out below 16% of the time while adding 39.3% of fly balls against righties this season.

In addition, Aranda has smacked 71.4% of hard contact and has added a 17.9% barrel percentage against righties this season.

Meanwhile, he'll take on Tanner Houck of the Red Sox. Houck had a tremendous season last year. However, he's struggled specifically against lefties this year. Houck has allowed a .333 ISO and wOBA of .499 to his first 36 lefties this season. Beyond that, Houck has allowed 29.2% of line drives to lefties and 58.3% of hard contact.

Aranda has a very nice matchup tonight. Let's take advantage of it.

Vladimir Guerruero Jr. hasn't had the best start to this year's season against righties. However, Guerrero Jr. added a .218 ISO and wOBA of .402 last year with just 14.7% of strikeouts against righties in 551 plate apperances. He's typically dominant against righties and will get going in only a short time.

His breakout could start tonight against Atlanta's Grant Holmes.

Holmes has allowed a .188 ISO and wOBA of .313 to his first 19 righties as a right-handed pitcher. He's also walked 15.8% of righties and has fallen behind in counts plenty of times against righties this year.

Additionally, Holmes has allowed 30% of line drives and 30% of fly balls to righties this season. He's also given up 70% of hard contact to righties.

If there's ever a time for Guerrero Jr. to break out, it's tonight against Holmes.

I wanted to add Fernando Tatis Jr. here first. However, his odds of hitting a home run are currently +285, and I typically like to add bets with odds of +300 or more in this home run article.

Ultimately, any powerful right-handed bat has potential tonight against Jameson Taillon of the Cubs. After all, Taillon has allowed a .500 ISO and wOBA of .554 to his first 29 righties faced this season. Those righties have hit 39.1% of fly balls and 30.4% of line drives with only 26.1% of ground balls.

Additionally, Taillon has struck out only 17.2% of righties and has allowed a 17.4% barrel percentage.

When combining this year and last year, Manny Machado has slugged a .184 ISO and wOBA of .342 with only 18.2% of strikeouts against righties. He's also socked 26.6% of line drives and a 57.3% hard contact rate, which is even higher than Tatis' rate dating back to last season.

Machado and Tatis Jr. both have great matchups against Taillon.
