Padres vs. Astros Same-Game Parlay: Will Dylan Cease, Fernando Tatis Jr. Deliver on Sunday Night Baseball?
Sunday Night Baseball delivers a great matchup to close out the holiday weekend between the San Diego Padres and Houston Astros. The Padres have yet to win a game at Daikin Park in this series, losing 6-4 and 3-2.
Houston's offense has struggled mightily during the first 20 games of the season. The Astros are averaging 3.75 runs per game, which is eighth-lowest in the MLB. Conversely, San Diego's been much more productive at the plate, averaging 4.48 runs per game, which is tied for 11th-most this season.
Dylan Cease and Framber Valdez are expected to toe the rubber for their respective teams tonight. Cease is 1-1 with a 6.64 ERA, while Valdez is 1-2 with a 4.91 ERA.

Padres vs. Astros Same-Game Parlay
LEG 1: PADRES MONEYLINE (+110)
Oddsmakers are overvaluing Houston at home after winning the first two games of this series. The Padres offense is significantly better than the Astros, despite only scoring six combined runs during their two-game losing skid in Houston.
San Diego has yet to lose three straight games in 2025. Conversely, Houston just won back-to-back games for the first time this season. The Astros have lost eight straight games as favorites following a win.
On Saturday night, Houston erased a 2-0 deficit with three combined runs in the 6th and 7th innings. Cease is a more talented pitcher than Valdez. Houston's starting pitcher just gave up 10 hits and seven runs in 4.0 innings during a road loss to St. Louis in his last start on April 14th.
Cease held a potent Chicago Cubs lineup to two earned runs through 5.2 innings pitched in his last start. This lead to a 10-4 win for the Padres.
I'm bullish on the Padres to get hot early or late, while limiting Houston's bats from generating more than two or three runs. It's not often we get San Diego as an underdog, so let's bite on the value for Leg 1 of tonight's MLB Same-Game Parlay.
LEG 2: DYLAN CEASE OVER 5.5 STRIKEOUTS (-148)
Cease has struck out at least six batters in three of four starts this season. He's thrown 92 or more pitches during all of these outings, only failing to hit over 5.5 strikeouts against the Athletics.
Houston has cut down its strikeout rate lately. The Astros are primarily a right-handed lineup, which means Cease, a right-hander, will have an advantage on the mound. Houston's averaging 7.36 strikeouts per game at home, while averaging 8.15 strikeouts per game this season.
Let's back Cease to go over 5.5 strikeouts for the fourth time in five starts against Houston's lineup on Sunday night.
LEG 3: FERNANDO TATIS JR. OVER 0.5 HIT (-230)
There's no better way to wrap up this +383 MLB Same-Game Parlay than by including the Padres' star hitter, Fernando Tatis Jr.. We'll take Tatis to record at least one hit against Valdez and the Astros tonight.
Tatis Jr. is a power hitter who leads San Diego with 27 hits through 20 games played. He's riding an eight-game hit streak and is any pitchers nightmare at the plate.
Tatis Jr. will extend his hit streak against a shaky Valdez during Sunday Night Baseball, cashing the last leg of this MLB Same-Game Parlay.
