Georgia vs. Oklahoma Prediction: Can Bulldogs Get Revenge Over Sooners in Wednesday's Semifinal Rematch at College World Series?

Oklahoma faces Georgia in the College World Series semifinals on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha. Georgia is a -215 favorite and laying 1.5 runs, while Oklahoma is +164 on the moneyline with the total set at 14.5.

This is another rematch with a bracket imbalance. Oklahoma is unbeaten after a 9-0 win over Alabama and a 4-3 win over Georgia, so the Sooners need just one more victory to reach the championship series. Georgia has to beat Oklahoma twice, but the Bulldogs stayed alive with a 2-0 elimination win over Texas and now get a direct revenge spot.

Georgia vs. Oklahoma Prediction

Oklahoma has done almost everything right in Omaha. The Sooners dominated Alabama behind a complete team effort, then held off Georgia in a one-run game by capitalizing early and surviving the Bulldogs’ late push. They are in the driver’s seat, but this is also the first time Oklahoma has to deal with a revenge setup against a team that just sharpened up in an elimination game.

Georgia’s pitching has been outstanding. Joey Volchko overwhelmed Texas in the opener, and the Bulldogs followed that with a combined shutout against the Longhorns, with Dylan Vigue and Justin Byrd helping Georgia survive a tense 2-0 game. That win should matter mentally, because Georgia had been searching for one clutch offensive moment and finally got it from Tre Phelps.

The Bulldogs also have a strong reason to believe they can flip the first Oklahoma result. They lost 4-3 despite hitting three solo home runs and failing repeatedly with runners on base. If Georgia gets even a slightly better situational hitting performance this time, its pitching staff gives it enough margin to win by multiple runs.

Georgia vs. Oklahoma Best Bet

Oklahoma is dangerous and only needs one win, but Georgia has the better revenge angle and the sharper pitching form entering Wednesday night. The Bulldogs have already beaten Texas twice in Omaha, stayed alive under pressure, and now get a chance to correct the one game that got away.
