Diamondbacks vs. Twins Prediction
Taj Bradley has flashed strikeout upside throughout the season, but the results have been inconsistent. The right-hander enters this game with a 4.14 ERA and has struggled when facing Arizona in his career, posting a 9.00 ERA against the Diamondbacks. While Bradley can miss bats, he has also been prone to allowing hard contact and big innings when his command disappears.
On the other side, Zac Gallen simply has not looked like the ace we’ve become accustomed to seeing. Through his first 75 innings of the season, Gallen owns a 5.35 ERA and has struggled to consistently put hitters away. Opposing offenses have found success against him throughout the year, and his current form makes it difficult to trust him against a Twins lineup that ranks seventh in Major League Baseball in runs scored.
Minnesota’s offense continues to be one of the more underrated units in baseball. Byron Buxton is putting together an outstanding season and remains one of the most dangerous power threats in the American League. The Twins have scored 363 runs this year and continue to generate quality at-bats throughout the lineup.
Arizona has enough firepower of its own to contribute to a high-scoring game. Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte headline a lineup that can create problems with both power and speed, and they draw a favorable matchup against a Twins pitching staff that ranks near the bottom of the league in hits allowed. The recent trends also support offense.
Nine of Minnesota’s last ten road games have gone over the total, while seven of Arizona’s last eight night games against AL Central opponents have also cleared the number. Even more encouraging, there has been at least one run scored in the first inning in each of Taj Bradley’s last six road starts, suggesting we could see offense arrive early.

With both starting pitchers carrying ERA concerns, two offenses capable of putting together crooked numbers, and a pair of bullpens that have been inconsistent throughout the season, this sets up as one of the better over spots on the board.
I expect both teams to contribute offensively and wouldn’t be surprised if we see double-digit runs before the final out is recorded.
