3 Minute ReadGuardians vs. Rays Prediction: Can Junior Caminero, Rays Close Out Series in ALCS Game 6 on Monday Night?
Tampa Bay returns home with a 3-2 series lead after completely changing the momentum of the ALCS in Cleveland. The Rays followed a 7-3 Game 4 victory with a 3-1 win Sunday, putting themselves one victory away from advancing to the World Series.
The biggest development has been Tampa Bay’s pitching. Cleveland has scored three runs or fewer in four consecutive games, including just one run in Game 5, creating another appealing setup for a low-scoring Game 6.
Guardians vs. Rays Recent Results
Guardians (85-77 Regular Season)
Cleveland took a 2-1 series lead with a 3-2 victory in Game 3 but has struggled to generate offense since. The Guardians scored three times in Game 4 before Drew Rasmussen limited them to one run across seven innings in Sunday’s 3-1 loss.
Steven Kwan and José Ramírez remain Cleveland’s most consistent threats, but the lineup has struggled to string together rallies. The Guardians now face elimination while also preparing to lean heavily on their pitching staff rather than a traditional fully rested starter.
Rays (98-64 Regular Season)
Tampa Bay has won two straight after falling behind 2-1 in the series. The offense broke through for seven runs in Game 4 before the Rays won a much more controlled pitching battle Sunday.
Rasmussen allowed only one run on four hits over seven innings in Game 5 before the bullpen finished the job. Tampa Bay now hands the ball to Freddy Peralta with an opportunity to clinch the pennant at home.

Guardians vs. Rays Prediction
The series has increasingly become a pitching battle, particularly when Cleveland is at the plate. The Guardians have produced only nine runs over the last four games combined and were held to four singles and one run by Rasmussen in Game 5.
Peralta gives Tampa Bay another strong opportunity to continue that trend. He already handled Cleveland in this series and enters Game 6 with a postseason ERA below 1.00, giving the Rays another proven starter immediately after Rasmussen’s dominant outing.
Cleveland’s pitching strategy also supports the under. Rather than force Gavin Williams back on short rest, the Guardians are expected to use a bullpen-heavy approach beginning with Shawn Armstrong. That allows Cleveland to aggressively manage matchups in an elimination game instead of asking one starter to work deep into the night.
The Rays have scored enough to win without consistently exploding offensively. Outside of the seven-run Game 4 performance, Tampa Bay has scored three runs in each of its other four games in the series. That creates a profile where the Rays can control Game 6 without pushing the total into dangerous territory.
There is also little reason for either team to become overly aggressive early. Tampa Bay has a World Series berth within reach and can trust Peralta, while Cleveland’s best chance to force Game 7 is likely to keep the game tight and give Ramírez and the middle of the order opportunities late.
Seven is also an important number for an under. A 4-3 or 5-2 final produces a push rather than a loss, while the series has already generated multiple scores comfortably beneath that threshold.
Guardians vs. Rays Best Bet
- Pick: Under 7 (-120) Click here to get the best odds at DraftKings Sportsbook
Cleveland’s offense has been held to three runs or fewer in four consecutive games, while Tampa Bay has repeatedly shown it can win without needing a huge offensive performance. With Peralta starting for the Rays and Cleveland positioned to aggressively deploy its bullpen in an elimination game, another low-scoring matchup fits the way this series has developed.
Game 5 reinforced that formula with Tampa Bay winning 3-1 behind dominant pitching. Under 7 provides enough protection against another close postseason game while targeting the strongest trend of the series entering Game 6.
