The Astros railed in the ninth inning yesterday as they cut the lead to 3-1 with runners on first and second no-outs.

Jeremy Peña sacrificed the runners over, setting the stage for a dramatic ending.

First baseman Victor Caratini stepped to the plate with a chance to tie the game. Caratini hit the ball hard but right at left fielder Riley Greene, who secured the second out. Chas McCormick would draw a walk to load the bases for veteran Jason Heyward.

Heyward struck one of the hardest-hit balls of the day, but unfortunately for Houston, it was hit right at first baseman Spencer Torkelson.

Catcher Jake Rogers led the way in game one with a two-out RBI single, setting the tone.

Shortstop Trey Sweeney had the game-winning hit, delivering a two-out RBI base knock.

Yordan Alvarez and Alex Bregman led the team, and both went 2-4 in the loss.

Hunter Brown will get the rock for Houston today. Brown is 11-9 with a 3.49 ERA.

Southpaw Tyler Horton will start today's game for Detriot, but it will be a bullpen game with no arm getting more than a few innings.

The 26-year-old has pitched his best at home this year and runs into a below-average Tigers offense.
