TBT Basketball Odds, Picks, Prediction (Thursday 7/28): Can Florida TNT Advance to the Semifinals?

The Basketball Tournament (TBT) is onto the quarterfinals this weekend, with August 2nd’s winner take all $1 million championship game just around the corner. With that, the slates keep getting smaller and smaller and tonight is no difference, as the winner of the Rucker Park R regional (American for Autism) will take on the winner in the Xavier Regional (Florida TNT).

With all games from here on hosted at the UD Arena in Dayton, Ohio, both of these teams have had nearly a week off to rest and prepare, as they make the trip to Dayton for what is hopefully a long weekend.

Let’s take a closer look at how things are shaping up for tonight’s big showdown.

Americana for Autism vs. Florida TNT Start Time and Where To Watch

Americana for Autism vs. Florida TNT Prediction

Backed by a start-up called Americana, which includes investors Alexis Ohanian and Future, Americana for Autism has made their second year in TBT one to remember thus far as they cruised through the Rucker Park regional to get to this game. Now 5-1 in their two years in TBT, Americana is headlined by Delroy James, who along with Ronald March has this team humming right along ahead of this matchup. 

Through their regional games, Americana won by an average of seven points per game, narrowly avoiding disaster in their very first game beating Peacock Nation 69-68.

The last time we see them take the court, they edged past HBCUnited, as James led all scorers with 14 points to go along with seven critical rebounds. HBCUnited’s Jermaine Marrow did get 22 on the night, and Americana will have to dial up their defense if they want to compete against a host of scorers on the TNT roster tonight. 

As for Florida TNT, their third year has been the charm, as their run last year has so far been overshadowed by their play this TBT. Led by a core group of Kenny Boynton and Keith Clanton (averaging 31.4 points per game), TNT has also been getting loads of production from new addition Christopher Warren who leads the team with 19.7 points per game.

In one of the biggest blowouts of TBT thus far, Florida TNT started this year’s tournament beating Team AboutBilions 114-57, putting the rest of the league on notice. While they did cool off a bit offensively, through three games, TNT is averaging 92.33 points per game.

The last time we saw them on the court, TNT moved past Zip Em’ Up a week from today, 76-62 as they struggled to contain the duo of JP Macura and Semaj Christon. TNT’s own duo, however, was the difference, as Warren and Dominique Jones combined for 49 points in the win. 

Look for Warren to be the difference again tonight, as TNT advances to the semi-finals.
