TBT Championship Game Odds, Picks (Tuesday, August 2): Americana for Autism vs. Blue Collar U

Seemingly as soon as it was getting started, the 64-team 2022 The Basketball Tournament (TBT) is now to just two teams, as the last couple of weeks have flown by. Now, all attention will turn to Tuesday night’s $1 million winner take all championship game at UD Arena, as two heavyweights in American for Autism and Blue Collar U will duke it out for the grand prize.

Beginning at 8:00 PM EST, the championship game will air and be streamed in its entirety on ESPN, getting its own night in the sports calendar for what should be a terrific final game.

Americana for Autism vs. Blue Collar U Prediction

In just their second season playing in TBT, American for Autism has made a run all the way to the finals, breezing through the Rucker Park regional and now amassing a record of 7-1 all-time in TBT. Backed by Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian and the rapper Future, American bolstered their roster this season with former NBA baller Chris Wright, who has made a big impact in his first season in TBT.

Winning their games this TBT by an average margin of 6.8 points per game, Americana faced their toughest test on Friday night, knocking off the previous TBT favorites in AfterShocks 78-75. While Wright contributed just two points and six boards on the night, guard Isaiah Swann led the way with 18 points, while Nigel Johnson added another 14 to secure the win.

On the other side of this matchup, new TBT favorite Blue Collar U have improved on their semi-final appearance last season, as the Buffalo alumni team cruised through the Syracuse regional while handling business every step of the way. Winning their games thus far by an average margin of 12.8 points per game.

In their semi-final win against Red Scare, the Dayton alumni team playing in front of their home fans and stadium, BCU took care of business on both sides of the ball. Standout guard Wes Clark led all scorers with 22 points, while Blake Hamilton dominated on the boards picking up eight in addition to 10 points.

In the 2022 TBT, Clark now ranks tied for second in total points scored with 76, as teammate CJ Massinburg also has 76 points. Hamilton also ranks inside the top four in defensive rebounds, as BCU has once again proved to be one of the most well-balanced teams in all of TBT.

In addition to the scoring threat of Massinburg and Clark, I like Hamilton and fellow big man Nick Perkins to be the difference tonight, as the Buffalo alum win their first ever TBT and take home the $1 million cash prize.
