When the New Orleans Pelicans traded for CJ McCollum from the Portland Trail Blazers, the Pelicans became instant playoff contenders. At just 27-36 on the season, the Pelicans will need to fight a little bit more, but at this very moment, the Pelicans would be a 10-seed and get a play-in opportunity.

On the other hand, the Denver Nuggets don't have much to worry about. Sitting at 37-26, Denver will make the playoffs and compete. The Nuggets have ultimately won four of their last five games. The Pelicans, on the other hand, have now won four straight games including wins over the Phoenix Suns and Utah Jazz. But these wins aren't just wins. These games are complete blowouts with all four games on the winning streak being won by at least 15 points.

There's something about these Pelicans right now. Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum have played extremely well on the offensive end and the starting lineup also includes two big centers including Jonas Valanciunas and Jaxon Hayes to man the middle.

The Pelicans are deep and will only get deeper once Zion Williamson comes back. There's really a lot to like about this team. They've played with great energy and lots of heart. That's really the CJ McCollum effect. So I'll ride the Pelicans on this big winning streak, especially as underdogs.

Leg 2: CJ McCollum 15+ Points

Since being acquired by the Pelicans, McCollum has scored 15 points in every single game this season. Outside just two games of the nine, McCollum has hit at least 20 points. So we'll go the safe route with McCollum, knowing he's getting comfortable and taking plenty of shots.

In his last two games, McCollum is averaging 17 shots per game but has had four games with over 20 shot attempts. About a third of those attempts are coming from three and while McCollum doesn't get to the line a lot, he can absolutely be a bit more aggressive against this Nuggets team.

Leg 3: Brandon Ingram 20+ Points

If the Pelicans are going to cover, McCollum and Ingram are going to have to put in work offensively. Ingram is coming off a 29-point game against the Jazz where he didn't even play the fourth quarter. Before that game, Ingram scored 33 points against the Kings, in another blowout. I don't think tonight's game will be a blowout against the Nuggets but still like the Pelicans to cover and potentially win the game. If Ingram and McCollum both get more minutes, points will be scored between both of them to help us win this same-game parlay.
