ANALYSIS

Houston Rockets vs. Sacramento Kings Best Player Prop: Jalen Green From Three

I'll apologize for going with two picks in the same game. I'm sorry I'm not sorry. I know we got down on Damian Jones already but Jalen Green's lines weren't out yet. That was almost an hour ago. Things have changed. The thing is, this might be the best game of the night. Bad teams, fast pace, nothing to lose. Defense will be optional which means overs can happen all over the place. On top of that, concentrated scoring on the Rockets' side. We're talking two guys taking at least 17 shots each last game while nobody else saw double-digit attempts. It's just the type of non-equal opportunity offense I like to see. Brings a tear to my eye. Of the two guys that took a million shots the other night, one is highly likely to keep doing it. I think we should bet on him.

Jalen Green Over 3.5 Made Threes (+135) (Bet $100 to Win $135)

*Odds Available at DraftKings at Time of Publishing*

If you want to do Green's points at 22.5 for -110, I'm not going to stop you. I'm probably in on that too but I like the threes at this price. We're at DraftKings since FanDuel still doesn't have numbers for the Rockets' side yet. No one does really. Except for DraftKings which is why I love them. Even when I don't.

The books are trying to get slick here and I don't think we should let them. We should do the opposite really and make them pay for it. Earlier in the season, you would never see this line for Green. It's way too high. I'd say a 2.5 for plus money would have been more appropriate. But things have changed in Houston. They've shut Christian Wood and Eric Gordon down for the season. In doing that, they are giving their prized rookie all the run he wants as well as the freedom to do anything and everything. It's magic.

The Rockets like to shoot threes as they are sixth in the NBA in three-ball attempts per game. But over their last three, they're second only to the Portland Trail Blazers in that metric. Being that there are only a couple of guys taking shots, this is leading to stupid volume for those guys. We're talking guys like Green who has taken at least 10 three-point attempts in each of the last four games (he's hit at least five in each game). In the last two, he's tossed up at least 14. Chuck and duck baby.

The "jack up threes" strategy should work too because the Sacramento Kings are in town. On the season, they are second to last in the entire NBA at defending the three-point line. I love that about them. Just last game, Green went 6-14 against them. I think he hits at least four again tonight. We should bet on it.
