NBA player props expert John Hyslop is here with his top player prop pick for Wednesday night's New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs play-in matchup with his eyes set on Dejounte Murray in a big way.
ANALYSIS

New Orleans Pelicans vs. San Antonio Spurs Player Prop Pick: Dejounte Murray Deserves an Apology

Sometimes you see things you can't unsee. Happens all the time. I don't have to tell you that. It can happen at any time and any place and it happened to me this morning. Now, this wasn't like "aftermath of a high-speed motorcycle accident" thing you can't unsee. A lot of people would call it something even worse. What I saw can only be described as an "insane level of disrespect". Kind of like when Will Smith walked up and slapped Chris Rock a couple of weeks ago. For a second I wasn't even sure if I saw what I thought I saw. Lucky for us, we can bet on what I saw. It's actually the only thing we can do that can right this wrong. Still, I can't believe FanDuel is trying to pull this. In a play-in game no less.

Pelicans vs. Spurs Player Prop Picks

Dejounte Murray 25+ Points (+104) (Bet $100 to Win $104)

Dejounte Murray 10+ Assists (+112) (Bet $100 to Win $112)

*Odds Available at FanDuel at Time of Publishing*

Both of these can be found at FanDuel and from what I've seen, these are the best prices for each. DraftKings is doing the thing where they'll give you 30+ points on Murray but I'm not as into that as I am the 25+. Especially since I can get the assists at +110. Why not just do both 25+ and 10+? We're not trying to be heroes here and if we were we would just throw down on a triple-double at +390. We're not stupid.

As far as points, Murray should see the volume to get to 25+. He's an alpha's alpha. The Spurs need to win tonight and when that happens, guys like Murray go to work. He has to. It's clearly stated in the alpha rule book. Page one. Right at the top of the page. Before everything else.

Murray has already done this once against this same Pelicans team this season so we already know they can't handle him. As a matter of fact, he dropped 31 points on them one night. The haters are going to say that he didn't even come close to this number the last two times these teams played. That's true but one time they lost the game by 33. The team had a bad night. Whatever. The other time he failed to get to 25 he went 4-19 from the field. His shot was off. Hasn't your shot ever been off? It happens. The guy still had a triple-double that night.

Here's where the haters are going to be big mad. I'm going assists too. Only one team in the NBA has allowed a higher percentage of opponents' made field goals to be assisted. I don't even know if I said that right but the point is these Pels get worked. Davion Mitchell dropped 17 assists on them in one game. That's insane. In the three games, Murray has seen the Pelicans this season, he's gone 12+ assists in two of them. What would be perfect is if he posted another 31-12 line like he did the first time he saw New Orleans this season. I think he can.
