The Dallas Mavericks host the Utah Jazz for Game 5. Can Jordan Clarkson come to the Jazz's rescue tonight? John Hyslop breaks down the game.
ANALYSIS

Dallas Mavericks vs Utah Jazz Prediction: Jordan Clarkson To the Rescue in Game 5

Here's the thing people forget. If we just bet the early NBA games, then there is a chance that we could be out of action by 9:30pm ET tonight. That's a real possibility. With that in mind, we simply have to bet the late game. Our hands are tied here. If we're being honest, I didn't even want to. At least I didn't. That is until I saw a line that legit has no chance of losing. We're talking about the Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz here. Unless you're a fan of either team, it's tough to get into this series. We have to though unless we want to be watching Netflix with our wives when we otherwise should be sweating things out. Luckily, as I already mentioned, I found something we can all be proud of which is a bet that simply has no chance of losing. We dodged a bullet here people.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Utah Jazz Pick

Jordan Clarkson Over 14.5 Points (-106) (Bet $106 to win $100)

*Odds available at FanDuel at time of publishing*

This one is at FanDuel but it can be had at various other outlets. For instance, DraftKings is hanging 14.5 for -110. That's not too bad. Obviously, I hate playing in this range but it kind of feels like a layup. I was wanting to go 20+ for +350 at FanDuel and still might but I think the 14.5 needs to be bet first. Maybe after a couple of beers, we could start to look harder at the 20+.

Jordan Clarkson. The man, the myth, the legend. This guy is my favorite type of player. He's never seen a shot he doesn't think he can hit. It's beautiful. A true confident guy. If he didn't come off the bench he'd take 50+ shots per game. Everyone knows that. Luckily for anti-ball hogs, he plays off the bench on a team that features Donovan Mitchell. He'll fly under the radar pretty easily.

The thing is recently Clarkson is getting some runs. I don't know how you people are with patterns but check this one out. What number comes next in this one, 19, 22, 30, 36? Would it be safe to guess a number in the 30s? Damn, right it would be. By the way, those numbers are Clarkson's minutes in this series so far. Mike Conley has been pretty bad and Clarkson has benefited.

The thing with Clarkson is he's scored at least 14 points in each of the last three games in this series. Dallas presents a tough defense but Clarkson has found a way to score on them all season. He's hit them for at least 12 in every meeting. I know 12 doesn't get us home on 14.5 but it damn sure gives us a nice floor. I feel like the Jazz are getting to a point where they are ready to just let Clarkson play and if he plays anywhere near 30 minutes again tonight, he should get us to at least 15 points. Feels right.
