Golden State Warriors vs. Dallas Mavericks Game 1 Prediction

The Golden State Warriors vs. Dallas Mavericks Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals will take place from Chase Center tonight in a pivotal Game 1. The Mavericks made headlines the last few days for knocking off the defending Western Conference Champion, Phoenix Suns. The Mavericks did not win game seven. They dominated game seven. The Mavs jumped out to a ten-point lead in the first quarter and never looked back. To put this in perspective, Luka Doncic scored the same amount of points himself as the entire Phoenix Suns roster. The second half was not much better for the Suns, and the Mavs had one of the easier games seven wins in recent memory.

The role players were outstanding in the series against the Suns, and they know they will have to be even better against this experienced Golden State roster. The Warriors ran the league for a few seasons, but then Kevin Durant departed, and Klay Thompson missed more than a year with an injury. The Warriors now have Klay back and adopted a splash brother in Jordan Poole.

The Warriors are undoubtedly the more talented team in this series, but the Suns were more talented than the Mavs and here we are. The Warriors have been in these kinds of games before, whereas, for the Mavericks, this will be the biggest series of these guys' careers. They know Doncic will show up but can they have other guys step up in this series will be the question.

I am backing the Warriors tonight on the -5 line. I have seen the Warriors series really well to this point and in the last series, we were 8-1 betting on or against Golden State. I think this line is a steal quite frankly, so let’s take advantage.

The Mavericks are coming off an emotional seven-game series and now have to go to the Bay Area to take on this Warriors team who has played in a lot of high leverage games. There will be no nerves from the Warriors tonight, and I expect them to come out hot in the first half.

The -5 number really is not hard to get to, especially with the way that they can shoot the three-ball. Luka is going to get his, but I think the Warriors will make life harder on him than the Suns did. I also think Steve Kerr is going to force the role players to beat him in this series, and the role players have not been as good on the road this postseason. The environment will be electric tonight, which will help lead the Warriors to this win and cover.
