ANALYSIS

Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics Player Prop Pick: Can Payton Pritchard Pay Off in Game 2?

People were like, "are you going to post a player prop for the Celtics/Heat game tonight?" on Twitter today. Of course, I am. But with a series like this, you have to wait to do it closer to tip-off. Everyone knows that. There are obviously going to be roster shenanigans since the NBA has to keep this series close. It wasn't even safe to bet after Marcus Smart was announced in because you had to know another player was going to be announced out. That's just how the NBA works. They would never just give us Marcus Smart back and not take another guy. Like clockwork, a couple of hours ago, Derrick White was announced out. The problem for the NBA is that the guy replacing Derrick White is an absolute animal. I know, for one thing, my cash will be all over this guy.

Let's check out my prediction, best player prop, and odds for Game 2 between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics.

Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics Game 2 Prediction

Payton Pritchard Over 9.5 Points (-102) (Bet $102 to Win $100)

*Odds Available at FanDuel at Time of Publishing*

I did this one at FanDuel because they are hanging -102. At DraftKings, they have -125 but that's just because of the immense respect of P-Rabbit. There's no other reason for such a giant price discrepancy. BetMGM is in the same respect boat as DraftKings as they have 9.5 (-125) at the moment as well. Lastly, Barstool is scared to even post a number on the guy as there is nothing there for him. They might be the smartest of this bunch.

You could learn everything you need to know about Payton Prichard by listening to the song Rabbit Run by Eminem. A lot of people are going to say Lose Yourself by the same guy but I don't think so. It just kind of works. I get lost on the "you only get one shot" part because if you've ever watched P-Rabbit play, you know that he's getting way more than one shot every night. It's literally why we're betting him tonight. He's not afraid to shoot.

Prichard has played much in the playoffs as the rotations obviously get a little tighter this time of the year. But that's the thing, he doesn't need to play much to hit this number. He did it in Game 7 against Milwaukee and he only played 17 minutes. The guy put up 7 shots in that span. The haters are going to say it was garbage time but they'll get awfully quiet when I tell them that he put up 16 shots in 30 minutes in Game 1 of this series with the Miami Heat. Even with Marcus Smart back tonight, P-Rabbit should play a little with Derrick White out.

The thing about this matchup is it is kind of like the Milwaukee series in the sense that teams want to shoot threes against the Heat just like they did against the Bucks. On the season, only three teams saw opponents attempt more three-pointers against them than Miami. They'll legit let you shoot threes. The thing with P-Rabbit is he hits threes for a living. I would take his 2.5 made threes over but this guy will take it to the rack too. I bet he scores at least 10 points tonight.
