Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics Best Bet: Can Victor Oladipo Take Advantage of His Opportunity?
I was just going to go MLB again tonight but we've got basketball again. It's so hard to sit these things out knowing that there aren't many games left. I'm not trying to be a downer here but we need to start thinking about the future here. There's not a ton of NBA left. At some point soon, we will look at our score apps and there won't be anything under the NBA tab. We won't even see it. It will just be gone. Now I don't want to think about what we'll do then, but I know what we need to do now. Bet the games. All of them. Even if you don't have something that you're 100% sure on. Fire away. Luckily for us, I've taken this approach already and I've found something we can all be proud of. This one is special.
Victor Oladipo 15+ Points (+152) (Bet $100 to win $152)
We're at FanDuel again but this isn't just because of the ladders. I can't find a book that has a line on this guy right now. Like right in this moment, nobody has a line on Oladipo. I'm not complaining though. FanDuel even has something for everyone. If you don't like the 15+ at plus money, you can always go with over 12.5 at -110. Hard to argue with that but I'm going 15+.
Victor Oladipo has been on my radar since he was at Indiana. He's a short, tall guy. What I mean by that is he looks like he's 6'1" but he's actually 6'4". Seriously look at him tonight. He looks little and then he stands next to shorter guys and makes them look little. Not sure how he does that but it's awesome. Oladipo isn't just deceptively tall though. He can ball too.

Here's the thing about Oladipo in this series. He has taken at least eight shots in three of the four games. He comes off the bench and chooses to shoot the ball. Even if he's missing everything. I respect that about him. That takes guts. It's important too because even if we get news that Tyler Herro and Kyle Lowry are both playing tonight, this bet is still in play. It won't be a great bet at that point, but still worth betting.
Oladipo just needs an opportunity and the Herro injury appears to be that opportunity. People are saying that under normal circumstances, Herro would be out for weeks. I couldn't imagine him playing tonight. On top of that, Lowry has a hamstring issue so how effective will he be even if he plays. We saw Oladipo seize a moment like this in the Atlanta series when he hung 23 on the Hawks. He just did the same thing in the last game of this series. This feels like a bet that will age well when we get more injury news. Even if we don't get that news, this still could hit.
