Can Luka Doncic carry his team to victory once again? John Hyslop shares his best bet for Game 5 between the Golden State Warriors and the Dallas Mavericks. He's eying Luka Doncic.
ANALYSIS

Golden State Warriors vs Dallas Mavericks Game 5 Best Bet: Can Luka Doncic Get Buckets Tonight?

This could be the last game of the season for the Dallas Mavericks. They have fought valiantly all season long and some people even thought they could win the NBA Championship this season. That was a little bit aggressive but hey, people really though they could. You have to believe in something I guess.

Still, we're talking about the Dallas Mavericks here. These guys won't go away without a fight (probably). I feel like we should look on their side and see what's available because there just might be gold over there. It only took me one time through the lines to spot this nugget. At the time of writing, this thing has no chance of losing. Let's dive into my prediction, best bet, and the odds for Game 5 between the Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks.

Golden State Warriors vs Dallas Mavericks Game 5 Best Bet

Luka Doncic 40+ Points (+265) (Bet $100 to win $265)

*Odds available at FanDuel at time of publishing*

We're at FanDuel for this one since they have the ladders. Although this one really isn't a ladder since we're just going straight to the top rung. If you don't want to do 40+, you can get over 34.5 -110 pretty much anywhere in the world so that is an option. The issue I see with doing that is you lay -110 your way and I get +265 my way. It's way better to have a +265 bet. Everyone knows that.

Golden State Warriors vs Dallas Mavericks Game 5 Prediction

Luka Doncic. What can we even say about this kid? He's special. You can tell by the way he laughs every time he scores. That's just special. I laugh every time he does because I think it's funny. Hilarious even. More than that, I think this guy has ball-hog energy like no one else in the NBA. That's important because tonight's game is an elimination game in someone else's building. This is basically a ball hog's natural environment.

The haters are going to hate this one but even they know this is a money play. For starters, the last time Luka was here he hung 40+ points. He went for 42 to be exact. It was in Game 2 after Dallas got embarrassed 112-87 in Game 1. The main difference between those two games was Luka didn't seem to want to share the ball in Game 2. He took 23 shots that night with 10 of them being from downtown.

The fun part about this one is the fact that Luka dropped 40 points in Game 3 as well. If you're familiar with math, you'll see that he's hung at least 40 in half of the games this series. My guess is he would have done it again in Game 3 had his role players not been on fire. He still dropped 30. If I had to guess (I do), I'd say that the Warriors play this one with a lead. When that happens, our boy Luka won't go out without a fight. I think he takes 25+ shots tonight and drops at least 40 points.
